Day 1 – Lake Mainstay & Overnight
You have an early start with a 09:00hrs departure from Georgetown for the Lake Mainstay Resort located on the Essequibo River. Your journey takes approximately 2 hours from Georgetown. First you will be transported to the Parika Stelling by bus where will you get to experience the coastal views on your drive up. From there, you will be transferred by boat to the Supenaam Stelling to be collected and transferred by land to the exciting and relaxing Lake Mainstay Resort for your all inclusive adventure. While you are there,the experienced and courteous staff will guide you through your fun filled day and night with activities such as canoeing, fishing, volleyball, board games and much more. Enjoy a delectable dinner after which you can relax under the stars before you head to bed. Overnight at Lake Mainstay Resort.
Day 2 – Charity Boat Ride
Wake to a beautiful sunrise on the Essequibo River and an mouthwatering breakfast awaiting you. After Breakfast you will depart for the vibrant town of Charity in Essequibo. Here you will get a chance to explore the town and take a boat ride up the river for a tour of the beautiful Pomeroon. Enjoy a packed lunch on the smooth riverside before returning to Georgetown.
Day 3– Kaieteur & Arrowpoint Overnight
Today awaits the trip of a lifetime – Kaieteur Falls! Your day starts with a 07:00hrs departure from Roraima Duke Lodge. You will be transported to the Eugene F. Correia international Airport for a quick hour flight to the majestic Kaieteur Falls. Two hours will be spent on the ground, which gives you ample time to absorb the breathtaking scenery of the Kaieteur National Park and one of the world’s highest single drop waterfalls in the world. You will have a high chance of spotting the Golden Frog and the bright orange cock-of-the rock on the nature trail leading to the falls.
From the mighty Kaieteur you will board the airplane for your flight to the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, thereafter, you will be transferred by boat across the Demerara River, through the meandering Kamuni Creek to the Arrowpoint Nature Resort. This is facility offers guest an unforgettable ‘back to nature’ experience.
Upon your arrival to Arrowpoint Nature Resort, you will be greeted by Roraima’s friendly staff offering a welcome drink and escort you to the main dining area for a sumptuous lunch, where you will then be briefed on the history and safety of the resort.
After lunch you will be shown to your accommodations and spend the latter part of the afternoon participating in traditional archery and relaxing on the beach where you will end your day watching the sun set on the river banks.
At 19:00hrs, you will enjoy dinner served buffet style on the beach around the bon-fire while listening to tales told by your tour guide. After dinner, you can experience the Creatures of the Night Expedition, a guided tour into the jungle in the night wearing headlight where you can experience the night life of the animals. Return by boat where you will use the light to spot fish and caimans. Overnight at Arrowpoint Nature Resort.
Day 4 – Arrowpoint Wabina Expedition
You will wake to the beautiful sound of the birds chirping, you have the choice of sleeping in, going bird watching or going fishing in the early morning with guides. After, join the friendly staff for breakfast which will be served on the verandah at 08:00hrs. After breakfast you will be taken on the Wabani Expedition for an adventurous nature walk to Lucky Seed Landing and an exciting excursion of kayaking back to the resort for lunch. After lunch, it is time to say goodbye to Arrowpoint as you make you way back to Georgetown.
Day 5– City Tour & Rum Tour
Departing Georgetown at 09:00hrs, travel down the busy banks of the Demerara River to Demerara Distillers Limited (popularly known as DDL) for the 90 minutes El Dorado Rum Tour – one of Guyana’s best product and the world’s best tasting rum! Prepare to be wowed by the facility, process and the taste of the liquid gold!
Venture back to Georgetown and begin your city tour! Travel through the streets of the city learning about the rich culture and heritage that formed Guyana into the country you see today. See the colonial designed City Hall and Red House, the tallest wooden building in the world – St. George’s Cathedral, the National Museum and the vibrant Stabroek Market. End the day off with a delicious dinner at your hotel.
